On the 14th April, my doctor decided to go through my medical records and look at my history. As he browsed them he looked at me and stated "You are working on helping the wrong condition, you have fibromyalgia."
I looked at him and he said listen to me and you could improve your quality of life a bit but not much. He told me to stop pushing at my limits and start living within them. To live life in a new style and learn to adapt to the limitations my body set me. He told me to look at some fibromyalgia sites and learn about my disease.
For the first time in nearly 19 years I feel alive or well half alive which is better than I've been in a long time. Each day is a battle for me to not push further on the limits my conditions have gave me. My boyfriend has been a magnificent support as I've adjusted.
A lot of my friends have been brilliant but unfortunately one or two suddenly think I need babied and I hate it. I have to learn how to cope not be treated as or made to feel worthless. For one lying down to my condition isn't me and neither is giving up.
